Anyway, after ESPN.com ranks the Steeler Fans #1, they somehow drop all the ways down to 6th on Foxsports rankings. Biting the bullet on that isn't too hard, but then he goes on to denigrate Steeler fans which is a hell-worthy trespass in my book.
The "Stillers" fans are a very annoying bunch. If you ever encounter one and the subject of football comes up, all you'll hear about is how many rings they have. Whatever your argument is, they will counter with that. That being said, they have Heinz Field and sports bars around the country rocking on Sundays. They're very passionate about their football and it's completely understandable. Before Sidney Crosby, what else have they had to root for?
Now if you wonder where his hatred comes from he is an Eagles fan and freely admits as much. How many Super Bowls do they have? Oh wait, none. I can see why he'd be a little testy. Besides, does he remember the 90's? When the Mario Lemieux and the Pittsburgh Penguins won 2 more Stanley Cups than the Flyers? And what does Philadelphia have to root for since all their major sports teams suck? Oh wait, their Arena Football League team just won a championship and they held a parade for it, which is akin to throwing a party for graduating the 3rd grade. Congrats Philadelphia! You win the Billy Madison award for celebrating something totally meaningless.
Here is his puff piece on Eagles fans:
Some might call this biased, but the most passionate fans in all of sports are without question Philadelphia Eagles fans. They're cold-blooded and probably give KC a run for their money as being the loudest. They are by far the most knowledgeable fans in the league, and invented the perfect "boo." What cemented Philadelphia fans' reputation as the most amoral, loathsome collection in sports is famously called The Booing of Santa Claus. You would boo and throw snow balls too if Santa came out drunk in a half-done costume. Eagles' fans must deal with sports owners whose actions have not produced a champion in 25 years. The Eagles haven't hoisted a championship flag in 48 years, but the waiting list for season tickets is so long that you could sell out three stadiums full of Eagles fans for games.
I would seriously like to know his logic in determining how Eagle fans are the smartest. I maintain if they were intelligent, they would not be Eagles fans. And what the hell is the "perfect boo"? All that comed to mind is them booing the selection of a frachise quarterback who they have vastly underappreciated over the years and can't wait to run out of town. In Pittsburgh, we revere our star football players, ala Jerome Bettis, Ben Roethlisberger and Hines Ward. God Willing they will all be able to retire having only played for the black and gold.
You know you have the BEST fans when they travel halfway around the world to promote your team at the Olympics. How would you be able to tell who was an Eagles fan at the Olympics? It would be the guy drinking from the toilet.
If you notice, there is no name of the author. If the author was a truly proud Eagles fans, he would be proud to attach his name to the article.
